Hutchins is a small, historic railroad and industrial town about 9 miles south of downtown Dallas, bordered by the Trinity River. It grew slowly while surrounding Dallas County suburbs boomed, keeping a small-town, industrial character with Interstate 20 and Interstate 45 passing through. source
